In IICC competitions, there’s an important role called “angels”. They’re work are more trivial but they can be more close to the contestants. They are responsible for taking care of the teams and hear their problems. Angels help the teams 24/7 in these three days.

There are nine international teams this year, they all come from different countries, from Hong Kong to the Nigeria, the IICC competition is truly a international game. The international angels not only have to be the translators, different culture make this work more challenge. “When I came here first day, team DON STUDENT didn’t know the socket difference in Taiwan, so we couldn’t reach them of the dead phone battery. And I noticed that they have their own life pace but don’t have the ‘rush ‘concept like we do, so it’s a bit bother at first, “Yu-Chih Chen, the angel of the Nigeria team “DON STUDENT”. She mentioned that facing different culture might be little bit hard at first, but when I talked to them and got to know them, it could see that they are actually have good education, and even better than most of Taiwanese students.

Not only Yu-Chih Chen, Ken, a person who join IICC competition, chose to be an international angel this year. He said that although there are lots of Japanese tourists in Taiwan, he still don’t have much time to use Japanese, and that’s the reason why he wanted to be the angel of team “WASEDA”. “If angels took good care of the team, we can help them focused on the main project.” When helping the team, he said that he can learn a lot from them. “I admire the ambition of the Japanese team, and I can see the difference between Taiwanese team.”
