智慧鐵人創意競賽於在8月5日至8月9日在臺灣大學舉辦第15屆決賽暨第13屆國際邀請賽。歷經了初賽和複賽的激烈競爭，從來自全臺一千多隊脫穎而出24組隊伍，將於日本、韓國、香港、越南、馬來西亞、新加坡、印尼、智利和奈及利亞等9支國外隊伍，將進行體力與創意大比拼。
The 15th Intelligent Ironman Creativity Contest had eventually come to the final stage from 5th August to 10th August. There were twenty four teams stood out from more than a thousand teams after the fierce competition over preliminaries and semi-final of the contests. And also, a total of nine international teams were invited to IICC this year, including Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Chile and Nigeria.
教育部青年發展署副署長王育群表示，過去參與智鐵競賽的年輕人常說，「沒有說不可以，就是可以」。她勉勵所有參賽者突破傳統框架、自由發揮創意，並且能夠應運用所學，強化跨領域能力。台灣大學教務長郭鴻基則鼓勵國際隊伍參賽之餘，不妨到處走走，一睹台灣的風景。他表示，台北是一座文化城市，交雜著各種各樣的文化，非常值得探索。
Deputy Minister of Youth Department Administration YU CHIUN, WANG said, a lot of the youth teams took part of this contest often say, there is no impossibility but possibility. She encouraged the contestants can break through the traditional barrier, get their creative juices flowing, make good use of what they have learned and strengthen the ability to cross multiple fields with knowledge. Vice President of the Office of Academic Affairs of National Taiwan University, Mr Kuo, encouraged the internationals teams should walk around Taipei City when they have time after the competition. He pointed, Taipei is really a culture city mixed with the culture of various countries and it is a very interesting city for international teams to explore.
精彩的隊呼表演為開幕典禮帶來許多歡笑聲，每一支小隊都竭盡所能展現出各國的風土民情。來自越南隊伍《The Palette》的隊員是個動漫迷，他興奮地說，日本隊伍的表演就像偶像級的演唱會，非常精彩。
The opening ceremony filled with joyful atmosphere by the wonderful performances. Every team is doing their best, and also showing the customs and traditions of the countries. The teammate from Vietnam “The Palette”, a fan of anime, had showed his preference for team from Japan. He said, their performance was like the show of idol concert, it was so cool.
越南隊伍《The Palette》領隊也表示，智鐵競賽對學生來說是一個很好的機會，讓他們能夠在台灣探索新的事物和體驗不同的生活，還能結識到不同國家的朋友。
The team leader of Vietnam said, it was a very good chance for their students to explore the new chances and new aspect of the life in Taiwan，as well as making friends with other students from other countries.
智慧鐵人創意競賽考驗的不只是體力、膽識與創造力，也希望小鐵人在比賽中能夠收穫更多友誼及開拓國際視野，接下來72個小時的激戰，小鐵人即將發揮團隊合作與馬拉松的精神，勇闖每一道關卡。 (記者韋可琦、祝敏婷／台大採訪報導）
The Intelligent Ironman Creativity Contest is not only challenging physical strength, daring and creativity of the contestants, but it is also about making friends and to broaden their horizons.
